My Syllabi For Stats for Fall 2022

Life is so hard and I like to share stuff to make teaching statistics a bit easier. Here are my syllabi for stats this fall ( Honors Psyc Stats , Psyc Stats ). They have been inspired by some of the amazing, re-imagined syllabi I've seen shared on Twiiter and Facebook. While I share these with my students in .PDF form, these versions are in .PPTX form in case you want to steal them.

Spring 2020 Syllabuses

Hi, all- Happy 400th blog post to me! Anyway, here and there, people request my syllabuses. I'm happy to share them. I'm also sort of proud to share them this semester. Per ideas I've seen circulating on Twitter and at conferences, I've made three big changes this year: 1. I made them more visually appealing. Not just for aesthetic's sake, though, but to better organize information. 2. I've included a section that features a) hints for success from past students and b) my hints for success/extra resources. 3. I more directly addressed the fact that our students can face crises during the semester and I am here to help them with their problems. I also included a list of additional resources for assisting students. Thank you to everyone who has every shared their good ideas for improving our syllabuses. Anyway, here are my Honors Psych Stats syllabus and my Online Psych Stats syllabus.

McDaniel's "Generic Syllabus Maker"

I use a syllabus in my stats class, ergo making this not-statsy resource relevant to a blog about teaching statistics. Alright, I hate putting Week 1, Week 2, etc. on my syllabus, as much for myself as for my students. But, revising my syllabus every semester and trying to put the dates in can be annoying. No more. Caleb McDaniel ( @wcaleb ) created the "Generic Syllabus Maker" , which allows you to select the days of the week when you teach, and the start and end dates of your semester, and returns the class meeting dates in the format you select.
